The movie the weeping camel was set in Mongolia. It is very dry and desert like scenery. The people are very secluded and off in their own space. It seems as though the people are highly centered around family and caring for their animals. The people are pretty poor. At one point the kids in the family go to the market and the little boy saw a television that was pretty beat up and in American culture would pretty much have just been considered trash. The clothing they wear in this culture are vibrant and colorful.
The plot of this movie was that the families camel has a calf (baby camel) that is born white (albino) and the mother camel rejects it and refuses to let the calf to feed on her milk. the family goes to find a music teacher to help them with a musical ritual the help the mother camel to accept the young calf so that it may feed on her milk.
